Out with the old, in with the NEW…Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000

I’d like to start by paying homage to a trusted and true piece, our Epsilon 30 printer, which was recently retired as our enlarger after two decades of service. With very little issues and thousands of prints later, it’s a bit sad to see it go, but, at the same time, we are very excited to bring a state-of-the art printer to our shop.

We have just installed one of the best available printers to broaden the output choices we can offer, with incredible image quality. Our new addition, the Pro-4000, brings all new Lucia Pro ink sets, by Canon, that is newly formulated with 11 colors plus a new Chroma Optimizer designed specifically to meet the demands of the most critical client. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Currently, our available paper types we are beginning with are lustre, metallic, gloss and a heavy rag paper. No matter the paper, each need to be handled with care. Handling needs to be light and diligent. The new surfaces can be more susceptible to scratching and fingerprints then our previous prints from the Epsilon, however, the image quality and color consistency of its output make it well worth the extra awareness. Different papers generally have different weights, so please be careful with what you receive. We take the upmost pride in what we do here, as our output quality reflects directly to your customers, so rest assured, it will be perfect upon your receipt.

I’m sure you have heard of all sorts of names for the prints that come from an  “Ink Process”…like: Giclée print, fine-art prints, ink-jet print, digital pigment print, archival ink print, digital fine art pigment on paper prints, pigmented archival inkjet print, carbon prints, piezography prints, cone prints and the list goes on and on. Yep, they all mean the same thing, it just depends upon who you are talking to.

We are excited that the Pro-4000 is the newest member of our printer line-up and its image quality is sure to make you excited too.

In addition to our newest printer, we would like to take the time to make aware and/or remind you of our other printing capabilities.
